Carved Powder Horn with Wheel Lock Spanner This is possibly a 16th Century European Carved Powder Horn with a Wheel Lock Spanner. This is a very ornate carved powder horn depicting dogs and boars and deer on one flat side, a lizard and tree on the back, and a water bird on the other flat. It has a Wheel Lock Spanner fitted to the right flat, which is nicely decorated. The spanner and measure are brass and the bottom cap is copper. A great early, early hunting flask!!! Molded Horn Flask with Unusual Measure Spout This is a Molded Horn Flask with a very Unusual Measure Spout. This early 19th century piece is in excellent condition. It is quite large, 11 inches high and 5 1/2 inches wide. The drum measure is fitted with glass view ports so you can see the powder. The measure screws off so you can fill the flask. The horn body is quite attractive and is thin enough you can see through it. The only marking is the number 10 on the mouth of the flask. A really fine example of the Flask Art. 17th Century Carved Powder Horn European(?) This is a 17th Century Carved Powder Horn. I believe it is of European origins. The flattened horn is carved very elegantly to depict a swordsman with shield, fighting a griffin. NOTE THE HAT and COLLAR on the SWORDSMAN! The shield is also quite interesting.
