These have the daisy type eps. red lib stamp on f & b ep. black stamp on inside page. po Confederate bookplate on back ep. slightly spotted on edges. front hinge on Vol 1 just beginning to part. Vol I - po signed, gift, dated Dec., 1881, one very small rip on 2 front pages..maybe 1/4 inch. 707 pages with 2 pages of book adds in back plus 21 "into" pages. several pages with tissue paper still intact. Vol II po signed, gift, dated Dec. 10, 1881. 808 pages plus pages of books ads in back and 17 "intro" pages. Several fold out maps of campaigns. Pages in both vols are good, heavy, tight, very nicely tanned. Old eps still there with new ones as part of repair. With the repairs these books are in excellent shape and would make an excellent addition. $425.00

Both are in excellent condition with slipcase very slightly shelf worn. These two volumes are a report of Bulloch, Confederate secret service agent, to manage and direct naval affairs in Europe, his duties including the purchase and construction of vessels, their equipage and dispatchment. A classic in Civil War history. $100.00
